Please join us for Movie Night on Thursday, November 21st, at 5:30 pm. The Wild Robot (PG) will be presented in the gym, so bring a blanket and cozy up with your child(ren). We must have your RSVP turned in this Friday, November 15th. The papers have already been sent home.
Please understand this is a "family" event; therefore, your child(ren) must be accompanied by an adult. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Our Child Nutrition Office shares the following helpful tips for packing a healthy school lunch:
- Choose whole grains: Pack brown rice, quinoa, or whole-grain pita pockets instead of white bread.
- Add protein: Beans, hummus, nuts, egg whites, grilled chicken, or lean pork are all good protein sources.
- Limit processed meats: Avoid cold cuts, bacon, and other processed meats.
- Use healthy oils: Cook with olive or canola oil, and use healthy oils on salads.
- Drink water: Drink water or drinks with little or no sugar.
- Limit dairy and juice: Limit milk and dairy to 1-2 servings daily, and juice to 1 small glass daily.
- Pack a variety of fruits. Instead of fresh fruit, Try fruit leathers or fruit sauces, but make sure they are low in added sugar.
- Add a veggie dip: Hummus and veggie sticks are a protein-packed option.
- Make lunch fun: Make a kabob by placing sandwich components on a stick.
- Make pasta salad: You can make pasta salad ahead of time and add vegetables to make it healthier.
- Create a snack station: Create a station with healthy snacks like granola bars, cheese sticks, yogurt cups, or whole grain crackers.

-Travel in Groups: There’s safety in numbers. Stick with your friends and look out for each other.
-Stay Visible: Wear bright costumes or add reflective tape to your outfit. Carry a flashlight to help you see and be seen.
-Check Your Treats: Before diving into your candy haul, make sure to inspect all treats for any signs of tampering.
-Respect Others: Be mindful of your neighbors and their property. Not everyone celebrates Halloween, so be courteous.
-Stay on the Path: Stick to well-lit streets and avoid shortcuts through alleys or unlit areas.
-Emergency Contacts: Have a plan and know how to reach your friends or family if you get separated.
-Have a spooktacular time, but remember, safety first! 🕸️👻

Rainelle Elementary is celebrating Red Ribbon Week with 5 days of dress up!
Red Ribbon Week is an alcohol, tobacco, smoking, and other drug and violence prevention awareness campaign observed annually in October in the United States. It began as a tribute to fallen DEA special agent Enrique Camerena in 1985.

Greenbrier County Schools is pleased to partner with the Greenbrier Family Support Center and WVU Extension Office to provide support, resources, and connections to grandparents and anyone responsible for raising another person’s child. Please join us at the Renick Community Center’s non-food pantry on October 24 from 3 to 5 p.m. to discuss what resources and support are needed for grandfamilies in the Renick area.
We will have 2 Parent Volunteer trainings tomorrow at 9:00 am and 1:30 pm for those of you who would like to volunteer in our school. We will also be selling popcorn for $1 every Friday starting this week.

Chart your course to the school cafeteria to celebrate National School Lunch Week! The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) serves nearly 30 million children every school day. President John F. Kennedy created National School Lunch Week (NSLW) in 1962 to promote the importance of a healthy school lunch in a child’s life and its impact inside and outside the classroom. GCS students are invited to eat school meals free of charge through our participation in the Community Eligibility Program (CEP).
